Why do you want to be a tutor?
'You learn more quickly under the guidance of experienced teachers. You waste a lot of time going down blind alleys if you have no one to lead you.' -W. Somerset Maugham Everyone should get the help they need and deserve. When I was younger, I didn't like school and lacked motivation, attention, and the ability to sit still for more than 10 minutes due to boredom. School was not fun for me because I was always in trouble for my hyperactivity. I needed a teacher/tutor that could relate school to something interesting to me. There is always more than one way to teach/learn something and unfortunately, we are frequently told in school that there is only one way to learn something. I love tutoring because it gives me a chance to help students that are in the same situation I was in all throughout school.

Why should a student pick you?
Students should choose me as their tutor because I will do whatever it takes to make sure you remember material. If you don't understand, then I'm not doing my job. I always notice when a student is working hard. I reward all good grades on assignments, tests and projects, as well as an improvement in overall grade. Rewards range anywhere from candy and gift cards to concert tickets. 2 of my students made multiple A's (all consecutive) on assignments/quizzes/tests and were rewarded: -A phone call from a member of their favorite band, Secondhand Serenade. -Various autographed stuff from members of Avenged Sevenfold

    Personal Statement:
'I am among those who think that science has great beauty. A scientist in his laboratory is not only a technician: he is also a child placed before natural phenomena which impress him like a fairy tale.' Marie Curie 'Laws which ban all dogs of a certain appearance based solely on appearance and not behavior- are a reality, a reality American Pit Bull Terrier owners live with everyday. Imagine for a moment having a dear friend you know to be the paragon of loyalty, sweetness, patience, and good humor, constantly portrayed as 'evil', unpredictable and savage, and you will begin to understand the frustration.' Diane Jessup 'I happen to feel that the degree of a person's intelligence is directly reflected by the number of conflicting attitudes she can bring to bear on the same topic.' Lisa Alther

    Any Last Words?
'You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try.' Beverly Sills 'Total absence of humor renders life impossible.' Colette 'If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man.' Mark Twain 'Science may set limits to knowledge, but should not set limits to imagination.' Bertrand Russell' 'Imagination is more important than knowledge...' Albert Einstein 'Energy and persistence conquer all things.' Benjamin Franklin (I wouldn't be where I am if it weren't for energy and persistence)
